Three tips for a light eve meal
And why should a Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve rhyme with fat and sugar? This year, it’s decided, we change habits and we opt for festive and light recipes.
A gala dinner lasts a long time, the dishes follow one another … and calories accumulate. If you had decided to pay attention, it’s missed again this year! Well no. The gala dinner is not inevitable, we can decide on a light, festive and healthy menu.
Choose fruits and vegetables
If this year you pay attention to your weight not to regret your Eve like all the other years from January 2nd on the scale, here are some tips that could help you. For the aperitif, the appetizer, the accompaniment of the dish and the dessert, you do not necessarily have to put toasts of bread, potatoes, cream, sauces to no end or pastries in-want-here!
First resolution, we keep light hand on the appetizer: the snacking never goes well with the line. And if this year you prefer fresh fruits and vegetables preferably? Some recipes: raw vegetables or pretty mousses of beetroot, avocado, asparagus, a pumpkin soup for the entry or a pan fried sweet potatoes, pumpkin, green beans, zucchini to accompany your dish, a green salad at the time of the cheese plate.
We do not tighten up!
Some dieticians advise a single feast meal a day. We avoid the banquet lunch that ends at 16:30 and evening that starts at 20h. Another tip: prefer rye bread, to eat less: this bread promotes satiety. When preparing your menu, choose the least fat meat or fish possible (sole, bar and turbot or poultry) and cook as naturally as possible in the oven or grilled.
So we miss the traditional stuffed capon and its cream sauce. We avoid eating the skin of the turkey (even if it is grilled it remains greasy), we limit to a tablespoon the accompaniments of the type of apple dauphine or stuffing. Last tip and not least: we do not tighten! The dish (re) passes, if we were served reasonably the first time (it is not necessary to die of hunger either), we do not let ourselves be tempted
Program of the day after party
We all know that festive meals are an opportunity to drink more than usual. However, alcohol brings a lot of calories and carbohydrates to the body that will store generously. If you have to choose, prefer red wine and champagne to strong alcohols. If you opt for a cocktail, be generous on the juice and reduce the amount of alcohol. A little extra tip: add the dose of alcohol just before drinking: its taste will be pronounced without you having to add more.
But without opting for a fast or a total diet, know that the day after a meal may be the occasion of a day where snacks will be particularly light. On the menu, lemon water on waking and regularly during the day, vegetable broth, steamed vegetables and fresh fruit. We avoid at all costs nibbling and we take the air for beautiful walks (digestive) even if the sun is not bright.
